Interested in speaking at the ITBE Convention in February 2017?

Higher Education SIG Chair

As the Higher Education Section Interest Group (SIG) begins to prepare for the annual ITBE convention on February 24th and 25th, we are in search of speakers for breakout sessions.  If you have a topic that is relevant and timely to ESL instruction or programming in higher education, or if you have heard an excellent speaker and would like to recommend him/her, please let us know.

As a diverse group of ESL professionals, the Higher Education SIG seeks to attract speakers on any issue that is significant to the higher education community.  Instructors, graduate students, coordinators, staff, administrators, researchers--all are welcome to attend, propose, or recommend.

Topic ideas might include:
  • Assessment
  • Accreditation
  • Enrollment trends
  • CALL
  • Curriculum and course design
  • Trends in ESL pedagogy
  • Program re-structuring
  • Professional development
  • TOEFL/IELTS
  • Other ideas??

Please submit proposals (maximum 200 words), recommendations, or requests for additional information to Jennifer Rockafellow, ITBE Higher Education SIG Leader, at jennifer.rockafellow@pnw.edu by January 1, 2017.
Thank you for your help in ensuring that this year’s SIG meeting is constructive and engaging to all who attend.  We look forward to seeing you in February!
