Each year, Illinois TESOL-BE demonstrates its commitment to the field of English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education by giving professional development awards for ITBE members to attend its annual convention.
In order to encourage ITBE members attendance in the annual ITBE virtual convention, ITBE will be giving away 2 scholarships - one Undergraduate Scholarship and one Graduate Scholarship award.
The Undergraduate Scholarship – a $500 scholarship award for an undergraduate student presently enrolled full or part-time in an accredited college or a university program in TESOL or bilingual education OR a practicing professional or a paraprofessional in TESOL or BE with concrete plans to enroll in relevant undergraduate coursework. The applicant must be a member of ITBE and be registered for the upcoming virtual convention.
The Graduate Scholarship - a $500 award which will be awarded to a graduate student presently enrolled full or part-time in an accredited college or university program in TESOL or bilingual education or a practicing ESL/bilingual education professional with concrete plans to enroll in relevant graduate coursework. The applicant must be a member of ITBE and be registered for the upcoming virtual convention.
The online application process is open and deadline for submission is Friday, January 22nd.
Please submit your applications ASAP. The review of applications will begin immediately. Once the number of qualified applications is reached, the online submission system will be closed.
Award winners are notified by e-mail.
Award winners need to become members of ITBE by the application deadline.
ALL MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE ONLINE SYSTEM. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
