Meet your new Adult Education SIG Chairs: Keri George & Nancy Gebhardt

Keri George is currently teaching ESL in Harry S. Truman College’s Adult Education Program.  Her professional passions are motivated by student and educator advocacy, second language writing (outside the box, as often as possible), and research-driven C.A.L.L. applications.  She received a BA in English and a BA in International Studies from the University of Iowa and an MA in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Nancy Gebhardt is an ESL instructor at BIR Training Center, a commercial college in the Chicago area where she has taught adult students for a year.  She has also volunteered at Erie House since 2012.  She did undergraduate work in English at Roosevelt University and has a MA in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She hopes to complete her MA in Applied Linguistics TESOL at UIC this year.  She feels strongly about empowering adults who wish to develop and strengthen their voices in order to have a say in their futures.
