2026 Virtual Fall Workshop

Forward Together: Innovating, Connecting and Inspiring Multilingual Education

This year’s theme is Forward Together: Innovating, Connecting, and Inspiring Multilingual Education . Presenters and attendees are encouraged to expand their skill sets as they envision the future of multilingual education.

We are thrilled to welcome our keynote speaker, Jenny Siegfried. Her presentation is titled: Safe Spaces, Brave Voices: Empowering Multilingual Learners through Community.

The virtual workshop will take place virtually on October 17 from 8:30AM - 3:00PM, beginning at 8:30 am with a Meet and Greet and wrapping up at 3:00 pm with a closing session and raffle. Throughout the day, we’ll also host Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings from 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Attendees can earn up to 5.5 Professional Development Hours, based on participation in each session.

About Jenny Siegfried

In a career spanning more than two decades, Jenny Siegfried has had the privilege to impact adult English learners through teaching, teacher training, curriculum development, and more. She holds a graduate certificate in TESOL from American University and an MA in ESL from Hamline University. By day, she manages the Illinois Adult Education Hotline to connect adults with literacy services throughout Illinois. By night, she returns to her first love of teaching adult ESOL classes at Waubonsee Community College in Aurora. She also serves on the board of directors for IACEA, the professional organization for adult educators in Illinois.
