AY 2023 ITBE Awards
Each year, Illinois TESOL-BE demonstrates its commitment to the field of English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education by giving awards for ITBE members. This year, ITBE will be giving away 2 scholarships:
The Undergraduate Scholarship – a $500 scholarship award for an undergraduate student presently enrolled full or part-time in an accredited college or a university program in TESOL or bilingual education OR a practicing professional or a paraprofessional in TESOL or BE with concrete plans to enroll in relevant undergraduate coursework. The applicant must be a member of ITBE and be registered for the upcoming virtual convention.
The Graduate Scholarship - a $500 award which will be awarded to a graduate student presently enrolled full or part-time in an accredited college or university program in TESOL or bilingual education or a practicing ESL/bilingual education professional with concrete plans to enroll in relevant graduate coursework. The applicant must be a member of ITBE and be registered for the upcoming virtual convention.
Elliot Judd Outstanding Teacher Award:
ITBE is accepting nominations for the Elliot Judd Outstanding Teacher Award to honor an ITBE member who demonstrates the qualities exemplified by Elliot Judd: outstanding teaching, dedication to the professional field of TESOL, as well as a commitment to the professional development of colleagues.
The online application process is open and the deadline for submission is Friday, December 23. Please submit your applications ASAP. The review of applications will begin immediately. Once the number of qualified applications is reached, the online submission system will be closed. Award winners are notified by e-mail.
ALL MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE ONLINE SYSTEM. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
