Invitation from the Convention Chair
After a break in our annual conference schedule due to ITBE hosting the international TESOL Convention earlier this year, we are excited about our 44th Annual Convention this coming February 22-23, 2019 at the Sheraton Lisle Naperville Hotel.
We chose the theme "Bridging the Gap" to encourage all English language professionals to join in the conversation on how to bridge the various information gaps within our discipline. We want to hear your ideas that contribute to best practices in ESL pedagogy - or about your cutting edge research. We want to explore new ways to connect what students learn in the classroom to their various cultural contexts outside the classroom. We want to know how we can provide much needed support to the professionals in our various teaching contexts. In short, we want to know what you think are the missing pieces within English language teaching, and how you can foster deeper conversations that bridge the gap between theory and practice.
And that's where you come in. We invite you to help bridge the gap by submitting a proposal for our various academic presentations. Be bold! Be innovative! Go to the ITBE link for proposal submissions at https://itbe.org/convention_proposals.php. We are currently accepting proposals for review until midnight October 31.
Remember, you are the link that connects the English language to real world applications for the English learners we serve. So, join in the conversation and submit a proposal! We look forward to hearing from you!
